OBITUARY

Jennie Marshalek

Jennie Marshalek, 88, of Ellsworth died Thursday April 16, 2009 in her home following a brief illness. She was born May 24, 1920 in Bentleyville a daughter of the late Peter and Vilma Usnik Vlanich. Mrs. Marshalek had been a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Ave Maria Roman Catholic Parish of Bentleyville. She was also a member of the St. George Croation Fraternal Union Lodge #354 of Cokeburg. She enjoyed cooking, oil painting, and playing the piano. Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth “Liz” Baran and Linda McGinty both of West Palm Beach, Fla., two brothers, Steve Vlanich of Bentleyville, Milan Vlanich of Washington, one sister, Julie Kibelbeck of Ocala, Fla., seven grandchildren, James D. Baran Jr. and wife Terri, Chad Baran, Nicole Franklin and husband Phil, Megan Baran, Jeffrey McGinty and wife Tatiana, Jason McGinty and wife Elena, Jennifer Metts and husband David, six great grandchildren, Nicholas Baran, Nicholas McGinty, Emma McGinty, Jacob Metts, Zachary Metts, Aidan Metts, and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents is her husband, Frank “Butch” Marshalek who died July 4, 1997, one brother, Frank Vlanich, and one sister, Katherine Vernallis. Friends will be received from 6-8pm Saturday and from 2-4 and 6-8pm Sunday in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main St. Bentleyville where prayers will be said at 9:30am Monday April 20, 2009 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in the Ave Maria R.C. Church, Bentleyville with Rev. Gary Krummert officiating. Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery.
