OBITUARY

Julia D. Russell

Julia D. Russell, 84 of Richeyville died Saturday May 16, 2009 in her home. She was born November 25, 1924 in Daisytown a daughter of the late Valentine and Anna Kabatko Mihalik. Mrs. Russell was a 1942 graduate of California High School and had been a homemaker. She was a life long member of the St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church of Richeyville and was also a member of the St Agnes Ladies Guild and the Catholic Daughters of America Court #1919 of which she was a former Grand Regent. Surviving are two daughters, Bernice (Bernie) Russell of Ft. Myers, Fla., Patty Scatena and husband Jim of Ludington, MI. one son, Bernie Russell of Washington, Pa., two sisters, Mary Gaydosh of Uniontown, Anne Malik of Bentleyville, two brothers, George Mihalik of Warren, OH., Albert Mihalik of Youngstown, OH., four grandchildren, Juli (Ryan) McGuire, Jim (Valerie) Scatena, Jesse Russell, Emma Grace Russell, four great grandsons and several nieces and nephews. Julia was the heart of her family and loved being a mother and grandmother. She was happiest when her family was all together and she was cooking for them with love. Julia was rich with family and friends and will be sadly and greatly missed. Deceased in addition to her parents is her husband Bernard Russell who died September 11, 1982. Friends will be received from 3-8pm Monday in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main St. Beallsville where prayers will be said at 10:00am Tuesday May 19, 2009 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in the St. Agnes R.C. Church, Richeyville with Rev. John Forbidussi as celebrant. Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery. The St. Agnes Ladies Guild and the C.D. of A. will recite the rosary at 7:30pm on Monday in the funeral home.
