OBITUARY

Edward R. Weekley Sr.

Edward R. Weekley, Sr., 84, of Richeyville died Thursday March 20, 2008 in Canonsburg Hospital following a brief illness. He was born April 13, 1923 in Rewton, Pa. a son of the late Charles Ray and Minnie Stutler Weekley. Mr. Weekley was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army and had been employed by Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp. as an underground miner at Vesta #4 mine for 19 years and later as a steel worker for J & L at the Aliquippa works for 20 years before retiring in 1980. He was a lifelong member of the St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church of Richeyville where he served as an usher for 12 years and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5826 of Bentleyville. He was also a member of the Hanock-McCune-Horne American Legion Post #705 of Centerville where he served as Commander for 13 years and served as Deputy Commander of the 25th District for 8 years. He is survived by a son, Edward Weekley and wife Carol of Beallsville, two step sons, Sylvan Pinto and wife Gloria of Greensburg, Perry Pinto and wife Dorothy of Washington, Pa., two step daughters, Donna Lee Kerestan and husband John of Fayette City, Linda Aaron and husband Wayne of Washington, Pa., one sister, Eunice Tyhonas of Beaver, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents is his wife, Mary Weekley who died July 28, 1985, a daughter, Karen Marie Weekley, a grandson, Kevin Weekley who died February 2005, two sisters, Mary McCardle, Margaret Chambers, two brothers, Edgar and Walter Weekley. Friends will be received from 7-9pm Wednesday and from 2-4 and 7-9pm Thursday in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main St. Beallsville where prayers will be said at 9:30am Friday March 28, 2008 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in the St. Agnes R.C. Church, Richeyville with Rev. John Forbidussi as celebrant. Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery, Full graveside military rites will be accorded by the Hancock-McCune-Horne American Legion Post #705 of Centerville. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to: Centerville American Legion, 1101 Old Nat. Pike, Fredericktown, Pa. 15333.
