Gladys Marie Weiss

Gladys Marie Weiss, age 91 of Arcadia, IN formerly of Avella, PA died Monday July 5, 2004 in the Sheridan Healthcare Center in Arcadia. She was born August 30, 1912 in Cleaton, KY a daughter of Daniel Webster and Eula Belle Denton DeWitt. Mrs. Weiss worked as a Nurses Aide at Shepler Nursing Home in Pittsburgh and worked as a Postal Clerk at a Pittsburgh Post Office for several years. She was a member of the Washington Seventh Day Adventist Church in Washington, PA. On August 7, 1930 she married George Edward Weiss who died December 21, 1982. Surviving is 1 Daughter - Pamela J. Byers of Sharpsville, IN; 2 Sons - George Edward Weiss, Jr and Warren Delano Weiss both of Avella; 1 Brother - Wilford Victor DeWitt of Oviedo, FL; 20 Grandchildren; 43 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; 3 Step Grandchildren; 4 Step Great Grandchildren. Deceased in addition to her husband is a daughter, Esther Marie Bandel; 4 Brothers - Ernest, Winford, Ora, and Harold DeWitt; 2 Sisters - Ellen Trimbath and Lora Cowell.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Friday in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA where services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday July 10, 2004 with Pastor Warren Weiss officiating.
