OBITUARY

Charles C. Patterson, 90 a lifelong resident of Centerville died Saturday January 2, 2010 at 8:50pm in the Washington Hospital E.R. following a lengthy illness.
He was born August 16, 1919 in Richeyville a son of the late Charles and Pearl Shawley Patterson.
Mr. Patterson was a veteran of WW II serving as a private in the U.S. Army. For his service he was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, American Theatre Service Medal, American Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
He had been self employed and owned and operated Patterson Construction for over 40 years before his retirement. He had been a lifelong member of the Centerville United Methodist Church and a very active member and Past Master of the Deemston Grange #1372 and also the Washington County Grange, Pennsylvania State Grange, and National Grange where held various offices in each. He was also a member of the Hancock-McCune-Horne American Legion Post #705 of Centerville.
Mr. Patterson had a love of woodworking and was known for his hand made dollhouses. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
On April 2, 1947 he married Lucy Jones Patterson who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kathryn Raley of Centerville with whom he made his home in recent years, Carol Rozell and husband Bill of Centerville, two sons, Donald Patterson of Daisytown, Robert Patterson and wife Betty of Beallsville, a sister, Sarah Bane of Fredericktown, a sister in law, Mary Ann Patterson of Coal Center, seven grandchildren, Melanie Whipps, Sharon Patterson, Cory Raley, Leigh Patterson, Scott Carl and wife Amy, Jack Patterson, Jesse Rozell, three great grandchildren, Steven Kerik, Jr, Samantha Carl, Autumn Wingrove and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his parents is one son, Richard Charles Patterson, one brother, Voyle “Bud” Patterson, three sisters, Grace Burnette, Mary Hupp, and Dorothy Fowkes.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 4-9pm in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main St. Beallsville where funeral services will be held Wednesday January 6, 2010 at 11:00am with Rev. Nancy Zahn officiating. Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery. Full graveside military rites will be accorded by the Hancock-McCune-Horne American Legion Post #705 of Centerville.
