OBITUARY

Mary Messer Lipsky, 96, of Washington, formerly of Fredericktown, died Thursday, December 03, 2009 in the Washington Hospital.
She was born September 30, 1913 in Martin, PA, a daughter of the late Steve and Ani Gregorina Mesar.
On July 1, 1950, she married Mike J. Lipsky, who died January 7, 1992.
Mrs. Lipsky was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, sewing, and crocheting. She was a very good softball player and an excellent bowler. Playing cards was also a favorite past time, as well as hanging wall paper.
She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church for over 70 years and served on the church’s Board of Trustees, Beth Center Senior Citizens, Past President of the Beth Center Travel Club, and Past President of the United Methodist Women.
Surviving are two daughters- Ina A. Finn (Patrick) of Suffolk, VA, and Louise L. McKinney (George) of Brownsville; one son- Albert Lutes (Leila) of Brownsville; one sister- Helen Roman of Hiller, PA; and one sister in law- Dee Messer of Fredericktown; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, is one son- Jeffrey Lutes; two sisters- Julia May and Barbara Quigley; and four brothers- George Messer, Steve Mesar, Mike Messer, and John Messer.
Friends will be received from 6-8 PM Saturday and 1 to 3 & 6 to 8pm Sunday in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, December 7, 2009 with Rev. Jim Markley officiating. Interment will follow in the Beallsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Lipsky’s name to either Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 250 Hastings Road, Fredericktown, PA 15333 or Beth Center Senior Center, PO Box 151, Vestaburg, PA 15368.
