OBITUARY

Rosemary Franklin

Rosemary Franklin, 59, of Ellsworth died Sunday June 4, 2006 in Grady Memorial Hospital, Atlanta, Ga. She was born October 8, 1946 in Ellsworth a daughter of the late William Howard and Kathryn Eloise Johnson Jefferson Jr. Mrs. Franklin was 1964 graduate of Bentworth High School and had received a associate degree in accounting from Allegheny County Community College and later received a bachelor of science degree in computer science from Point Park College. She began her career at Lee Norris in Charleroi as a data entry specialist and later worked as an accountant for Westinghouse in West Mifflin for over 18 years. She later continued performing accounting responsibilities for a large home building association in the Washington D.C. and Atlanta Metro areas. Mrs. Franklin was a longtime member of the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Charleroi where she served as Chair of Trustees and also sang in the choir. She enjoyed cooking and served as head cook and manager for their family owned business, Miss Bessie's Bar-B-Q in Bentleyville. She also enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and was instrumental in bringing the family together at the holidays. She is survived by two sons, Norman Franklin and his wife Tammy of McDonald, Pa., Stephen Franklin and his wife Diana of Atlanta, Ga., four sisters, Kathryn Jones of White Lake, MI., Loretta Taylor of Mt. Lebanon, Joyce White of Washington D.C., Linda Washington of Pittsburgh, one brother, William H. Jefferson Jr. of Ellsworth, four grandchildren, Breauna, Quentin, Andrew, & Yanessa Franklin, and a host of nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents are two sisters, Patricia Ikard and Betty Finch. Friends will be received from 7-9pm Wednesday and from 2-4 and 7-9pm Thursday in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main St. Bentleyville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday June 9, 2006 in the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Charleroi. Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery.
