OBITUARY

Plummer B. Rose, 80 of Beallsville, PA died Friday, February 19, 2010 in the Washington Hospital. He was born April 11, 1929 in Clearville, PA a son of the late Arthur E. and Ora Robinette Rose. Mr. Rose was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a medic and among various citations he was awarded the Meritorious Unit Citation for his service. He had been employed as a truck driver for Weiss Packing in Donora for over 12 years and an independent carpenter in the area for many years. Mr. Rose was a member of the American Legion, enjoyed his grandchildren, word puzzles and reading. On March 4, 1950 he married Beda Morris Rose who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Maron Rose of Uniontown, PA, Larry Rose of Beallsville, PA and Lynn Rose and wife Roberta of Washington, PA; a daughter Vanessa Ceccarelli and husband Charles of Beallsville, PA; a brother Harold Rose of Sharon, PA and a sister, Ada Palmer of Bedford, PA; fourteen grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Hubert “Bud” and Grover Rose and three sisters, Helen Getz, Marie Ritchey and Mae Foor. Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, PA where services will be held at 11:00 A.M, Tuesday, February 23, 2010. Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by the Hancock-McCune-Horne American Legion Post #705 of Centerville and assisted by the U.S. Army.
