Jean G. Snyder

Jean G. Snyder, 91 of Pittsburgh, PA formerly of Bentleyville, died January 22, 2008 at 5:20 A.M. in her home after a short illness. She was born October 14, 1916 in Bentleyville, a daughter of the late Emory C. and Jewel McCormick Snyder. Miss Snyder lived her entire life in Bentleyville until she moved to Asbury Heights in November 21, 2002. She was a 1933 graduate of Bentleyville High School, a graduate of California State Teachers College and received a Masters Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She taught for 44 years; four years in Richeyville and 40 years in Fallowfield Twp. and Charleroi Area Schools. She taught Civics, was a Guidance Counselor and was Jr. High School Principal. Jean was a member of the Bentleyville United Methodist Church for 79 years, past president of the United Methodist Women and past president of the Elizabeth Class and the Intermediate Sunday School Superintendent. She also served on many other church committees. Surviving are several cousins. Friends will be received on Thursday from 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, PA. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 26, 2008 in the Bentleyville United Methodist Church, Bentleyville, PA with the Rev. Sang Kong Choi. Interment will be in the Beallsville Cemetery.
