Helen M. Harshman, 92, of Brownsville formerly of Fredericktown died Saturday April 8, 2006 in Laurel Ridge Nursing Home of Uniontown.
She was born December 9, 1913 in Waltersburg, Pa. the daughter of the late Porter G. Henshaw and Blanche Krepps Henshaw.
Mrs. Harshman was a graduate of Redstone Twp. High School class of 1931 and attended California State Teachers College and Waynesburg College and had been a former teacher for the Beth-Center School District.
She was a longtime member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Deemston, Boro., the P.S.E.A.R., Monesson Chapter #205 Order of the Eastern Star, and the Hanson-Cole American Legion Post #705 Ladies Auxillary of Centerville.
She is survived by two sister-in-laws, Winifred R. Henshaw of Merrittstown, Pa., Virginia Johnson of Pittsburgh and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is her husband, Joseph I. Harshman who died December 4, 1986, and three brothers, James W., Clark D., and Howard K. Henshaw.
She is the last of her immediate family.
At the request of the family there will be no public visitation, A private graveside service and interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery with Rev. Gary Gregg officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to, the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 250 Hastings Rd., Fredericktown, Pa. 15333.
