OBITUARY

Edgar C. Paxton, 59, district manager of Champion Stores in Washington county, died Friday in his home at Daisytown, RD 1. 
                He was with the retail supply stores’ Crescent Heights Branch near his home for 34 years after joining the company six years earlier.
                Originally from California, PA., he was the son of James and Jennie McIntyre Paxton.  His wife, Mrs. Sarah Gripp Paxton, died in 1949.
                He belonged to the California Presbyterian Church, Monongahela Lodge No. 337, F. and A.M., and Syria Temple.
                Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Crow, in St. Petersburg, Fla.; three brothers, John W., James and Thomas Paxton; and a sister, Mrs. Emma Fink, all of California.   
                Services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Beallsville, with burial in Beallsville Cemetery.
