OBITUARY

Jean L. Tokar, 94 of Washington, PA formerly of Cokeburg passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016 in the Donnell House Washington.
She was born February 1, 1922 in Cokeburg a daughter of the late John R. and Louise Hayter Lindsay.
For over 50 years she owned and operated Jean’s Beauty Shop in Cokeburg, retiring in 2007. She was the hairdresser for the Greenlee Funeral Homes for over 30 years.
Jean was a life-long active member of the Cokeburg Presbyterian Church where she held several offices within the Church and was particularly active with the Ladies Aide Society of the Church.
She also enjoyed spending time with her friends in a card club and sewing club.
On September 17, 1951 she married Frank E. Tokar who died December 11, 1957.
Surviving are two children Gregory F. Tokar (Cheryl) and Donna L. Knowlson (Kenneth) both of Washington, PA; four grandchildren, Shannon Redinger (Troy), Adam Tokar (Leah), Megan Knowlson and Scott Knowlson; one great grandson Tanner Redinger; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are two children who died in infancy; two brothers, John Lindsay and Alfred Lindsay; two sisters Alice Willey and Winifred Dolan. Mrs. Tokar was the last of her immediate family.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 8 PM in the Greenlee Funeral Home 619 Main St. Bentleyville where Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11 AM with Rev. Frances Skariot officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery. Mrs. Tokar has requested, in lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions be made to Cokeburg Presbyterian Church PO Box 53 Cokeburg, PA 15324.
