OBITUARY

Thomas G. Sumner, age 79 of Beallsville, PA died at 4:30 pm Friday August 20, 2004 in Tandem Health Care, McMurray after a long illness.
He was born September 27, 1924 in West Elizabeth, PA a son of the late Howard and Eleanor Miller Sumner.
Mr. Sumner was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
In 1977 he retired from Beth Energy Mine #58 in Marianna. He worked for 39 years in coal mines and was a member of United Mine Workers of America Local 2487.
Mr. Sumner has been a resident of Beallsville for the past 73 years.
On June 28, 1952, in the Rectory of the St. Mary's R.C.Church, he married Mary Liptak Sumner, who survives. They celebrated 52 years of marriage.
Surviving in addition to his wife is three sisters - Eleanor Moore and Evelyn Gatten both of Tavares, FL, and Doris Marinkovich of Beallsville, PA; Two brothers - Harry Sumner of Allison, PA and Eugene Noble of Beallsville, PA; Several nieces and nephews; and a special friend - Douglas Rohrer of Richeyville, PA.
Deceased in addition to his parents is two brothers - Raymond and Roy Sumner.

Visitation, services and interment will be private. The family requests that flowers be omitted and contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Pittsburgh Chapter, 1323 Forbes Ave, Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15219-4725. Arrangements are under the direction of the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA.
