OBITUARY

Ambrose B. Palfi, 91 of Richeyville PA died Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born January 2, 1922 in Daisytown, PA a son of the late Frank and Esther Lelkach Palfi.
Mr. Palfi was a US Army Veteran of WWII having served in campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. For his services he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Europe African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four bronze stars and the WWII Victory Medal. 
He retired in 1979 from the J&L Steel’s Vesta #5 Prep Plant. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
Mr. Palfi was a 54 year member of the Hancock-McCune-Horn American Legion Post #705, Centerville, PA and a lifelong member of the St. Agnes R. C. Church, Richeyville, PA.
He enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica as well as gardening, bird watching and nature in general.
On November 28, 1946 he married Andrea White Palfi who died January 21, 1985.
Surviving is a daughter, Rochelle Gaul, his caretaker and a son, Randall Palfi (Kim) both of Richeyville, PA; three grandchildren, Brian Hershbine, Nicole Conrad and Andrew Palfi; six great grandchildren, Chelsey Conrad, Grant, Gavin, Greyson and Ashlyn Hershbine and Oceana See; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his parents and wife is a daughter, Charmaine Hershbine; three sisters, Julia Palfi, Margaret Urick and Bessie Ilko.

Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, PA where prayers will be said Monday, May 20, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. followed at 10:00 A.M. by a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Agnes R. C. Church, Richeyville, PA with Rev. Edward Yuhas as celebrant. Interment will be in the Beallsville Cemetery, Beallsville, PA. Military Rites will be accorded by the Hancock-McCune-Horn American Legion Post #705.
