Myrtle E. McManus “A Friend To All”

Myrtle E. McManus, 90, of Marianna, PA, died Thursday, September 25, 2008 in the Washington Hospital. Mrs. McManus was born on March 22, 1918 in Shinnston, WV, a daughter of the late Julius and Margaret Shaffer Kirk. She was Protestant by faith. Mrs. McManus was a charitable person, who enjoyed the gift of giving to others. She could be relied upon to always listen, to offer support to whomever needed it. Surviving are three daughters; Dora Polan and her husband Bill of Canonsburg, PA, Joetta Niemeyer and her husband Thomas of Woodlands, TX, and Rayma Helman and her husband Tom of McMurray, PA; one son, Richard McManus of Clarksville, 12 grand children and 3 great grandchildren whom she loved dearly and enjoyed spending time with. Deceased in addition to her parents, is her husband, Raymond McManus who died on December 10, 1998; one son, Jay Duane McManus, who died March 11, 1988; two brothers, Alfred and Hayward Kirk; and three sisters, Ethel Staley, Minnie Ankney, and Ida Staley. Friends will be received from 6-8 pm Saturday and from 1-4 pm and 6-8 pm Sunday in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, PA, where services will be held at 11 am Monday, September 29, 2008. Interment will follow in the Beallsville Cemetery.
