Hazel Petroff

Ellsworth resident enjoyed bingo

Hazel Petroff, 91, of Ellsworth, died Sunday, June 19, 2011, in Haven Crest Nursing Home, Monongahela.

She was born July 25, 1919, in West Virginia, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Jane Queen Steele.

Mrs. Petroff was a homemaker.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Petroff also enjoyed bingo, cards, baking and cooking.

Surviving are a daughter, Joanne Rocco (Charles) of Bentleyville; three grandchildren, John Rocco, Ronald Rocco (Julie) and Charles Rocco Jr. (Jessie); two great-grandchildren, Shanyce and Janelle; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the last of her immediate family.

Deceased is her husband, Michael Petroff, who died January 8, 1987.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a granddaughter, Jenna Michelle Rocco, and four sisters, Maude Carson, Pauline Decker, Opal Hamric and Marie Yowonske.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, where a blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, with Deacon Tom Raymond officiating. Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Bentleyville Public Library, 931 Main Street, Bentleyville, PA 15314.
