"Little Black Book" of interments

This is called the "Little Black Book" (LBB)of interment listings. It covers the time period from May 1915 to August 1953. I'm not sure why this was done in addition to the regular interment listing books. Most of these entries are also in the main interment books. It seems that this covers mostly the Jungle section of the cemetery. One of the interesting things is that many times the names in the interment book and the ones on the tombstone are speeled very differently. Sometimes the interment books list the Americanized names of many of the immigrants while the tombstones have the names in native languages. Sometimes it is just the opposite. For example, one tombstone says Guglielmo and the interment book says William. So make sure you look for both forms of names in both places.

The numbering system is very confusing in this section. No one who works at the cemetery now really knows exactly how it was arrived at and since so many burials do not have stones, it is difficult to figure out. Many of the burials are of young children and infants so that helps explain why there may be more than one burial listed for the same plot. Some have been moved to other sections of the cemetery so again there are duplicate numbers. I did the best I could to determine approximate locations but I have no doubt there are errors in my "guesstimates".
