William L. Theakston, 61, of Charleroi, died Monday, September 19, 2011, in UPMC-Shadyside hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born March 18, 1950, in Washington, a son of the late Willis William and Vesta M. Lane Theakston.

Mr. Theakston attended Bentleyville schools.

He worked at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport mill.

Surviving are his wife, Ernestine Palanzo Theakston; a son, William K. Theakston (Nikia) of Scenery Hill; a daughter, Ashley L. Sabo (James) of Bentleyville; and several grandchildren.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a sister, Janet Kay Thomas.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 22, with Bishop William Ilgenfritz, pastor of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Charleroi, officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
