Rev. Jonathan Winnett Jennings, in Lot #67.

He was born on July 4, 1844, in Washington County, Pa., probably in Somerset Twp., the son of Richard and Margaret Winnett Jennings.  He was named for his grandfather Winnett and was known by his middle name.  He died of a stroke on Feb. 5, 1935, in Clairton, Allegheny County, Pa.  He married Margaret Ann Roberts on April 13, 1871.  His children were Wilbert H. Jennings, Mollie L. Jennings, Talmadge Hazlett Jennings, Della Blanche Jennings, and Harold Winnett Jennings.

He was a farmer and a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church (a predecessor of the United Methodist Church) in Plumville, Speers, Midway, Millsboro, Burgettstown, Coal Center, and Allenport, Pa.  He was responsible for organizing the Speers Methodist Church.  He performed vocal duets for church entertainments with his cousin Allen Jennings.  The California Area Historical Society occupies the house he built in California, Pa.

The earliest of the 3 photos was taken at the J.H. Rogers studio in Washington, Pa.  The latest was taken on his 90th birthday at a large family reunion at Clairton Park in Clairton.  Although he was the owner of the cemetery lot where he is buried, he is the only occupant without a headstone, reportedly because it would have encroached on the adjacent driveway.
