Herschel A. Sargent 57, of Richeyville, PA died Monday, August 31, 2015 in the Donnell House after a lengthy illness.
He was born December 5, 1957 in Brownsville, PA a son of the late Herschel H. Sargent and Marcella Johns Sargent of Richeyville, PA who survives.
Mr. Sargent was a 1975 graduate of Beth Center High School and later became a Licensed Practical Nurse. 
His employment included the Western Center, Mayview and Woodville State Hospitals. He was last employed by Beverly Health Care in Canonsburg, PA.
Herschel had a strong faith in God and was a member of the Garwood Baptist Church where he was a choir member. He enjoyed interacting with all the church members. 
His hobbies included gardening, yardwork and decorating for Christmas. He collected CD’s, albums and records. He truly enjoyed music. Art projects with his nieces and nephews, traveling with his family and Facebook were some of his most cherished hobbies.
Surviving in addition to his mother are two sisters, Janet Lee Snyder (Steve) of Charleroi, PA and Marcella Banks (William) of Richeyville, PA; four brothers, Quintin L. Sargent (Maxine) of Bentleyville, PA, Bill Sargent and James D. Sargent both of Richeyville, PA and Harry J. Sargent (Shelly) of Washington, PA; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. 
Deceased in addition to his father is a brother John Sargent and nephew Sgt. Joseph Minucci who was killed in action in Iraq. 

Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, PA where funeral services will be held Friday, September 4, 2015 at 11 A.M. with Rev. George Lammay officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery, Beallsville, PA. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Garwood Baptist Church, 496 S. Ridge Road, Coal Center, PA 15423.
