OBITUARY

John Petrisek

John Petrisek, age 86 of Bentleyville, PA (Somerset Twp.) died Saturday April 28, 2007. He was born August 28, 1920 in Somerset Twp. a son of George and Julia Getto Petrisek. For 40 years, Mr. Petrisek was a coal miner. He worked in mines at Marianna, Crescent, Ellsworth and the Banning Mine in Smithton. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local 762. Mr. Petrisek was an active member of the Bentleyville United Methodist Church for 45 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Men, was a teacher of the Elizabeth Sunday School Class, Bible Study Group and a former Trustee of the church. He especially enjoyed attending the church dinners and talking to his friends. Mr. Petrisek was a hard working man, dedicated to working on the family farm and coal mining. He enjoyed his cattle, cutting grass and planting and harvesting his crops and gardening An avid reader, he especially enjoyed newspaper editorials to which he contributed his views. On April 29, 1941 he married Grace M. Deneen who died August 1, 2005. They celebrated 64 years of marriage. For over 43 years Mr. & Mrs. Petrisek hosted the annual Petrisek reunion. Surviving are four children - Virginia G. Roberts of Washington, PA, Nancy M. Bular, Joan E. Tiberie and John E. Petrisek and his wife Karlene, all of Bentleyville, PA; One sister - Mary Behanna of Bentleyville, PA; Two Brothers - Edgar Petrisek of Washington, PA and Max Petrisek of Millersville, PA; Seven Grandchildren - Stacy Baldwin, Donna Painter, Jesse Roberts, John M. Petrisek, Janet Ann Reed, Jane Bular and Janice Bular; Twelve Great Grandchildren - Ryan Wallace, Alan and Bradley Baldwin, Grace and Nathanial Painter, Alec and Tyler Roberts, Ali, Owen and Drew Petrisek, Katie and Kelli Reed; Several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents and wife are two sisters - Elizabeth Cecci and Anna Shaynak; Four brothers – Stanley Petrick, William Petrick, George Petrisek and Adam Petrisek.

Friends will be received on Monday from 6 to 9pm and Tuesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9pm in the Greenlee Funeral Home 619 Main St. Bentleyville where services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday May 2, 2007 with Rev. Sang K. Choi officiating. Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bentleyville United Methodist Church 712 Main St. Bentleyville, PA 15314 or the Bentleyville Public Library 931 Main St. Bentleyville, PA 15314. .
