Joanne Gasher, 60, of Scenery Hill (Beallsville Boro) died Saturday October 4, 2008 in the Washington County Health Center following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born October 4, 1948 in the Phillipsburg section of California, Pa. the daughter of the late Joseph Gasher and Grace Bronskole Gasher of Scenery Hill. Miss Gasher was a 1966 graduate of Bethlehem Center High School and was a 56 year member of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church of Richeyville. She admired the beauty of nature, especially animals and flowers. Although she will be missed, her family finds solace in knowing that she is no longer suffering, and is in the presence of God. Surviving in addition to her mother is a brother, Raymond Gasher of Scenery Hill, one aunt and numerous cousins. There will be no public visitation. A Blessing Service will be held Wednesday October 8, 2008 at 10:00 am in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main St. Beallsville with Rev. John Forbidussi officiating. Interment will be in the Beallsville Cemetery.
