Alan K. Hegedus, 79, of Worthington, Ohio (formerly of Princeton, New Jersey) passed away on April 6, 2016. He was born on April 4, 1937 in Richeyville, PA to the late Steve and Kathryn Hegedus. He is survived by his children, Jeff (Adrienne) Hegedus, Kathryn (Richard) Genger and Bob (Laurie) Hegedus; grandchildren, Finn Hegedus, Stephanie (Jere Weidknecht) Genger, and Alex and Erica Hegedus; great-granddaughter Katja; and sister Joyce (John) Christensen; along with numerous extended family, including his children's mother Jean (Ron) Powell, neighbors and friends. He held fond memories of his time in Princeton and his loving relationship with his step family. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Judith Metris.
Alan was retired as Executive Vice President of North American Philips Lighting Corp. He also served as President of Philips Lighting, Manufacturing Group President of Masco Corporation in Michigan, and held executive positions with General Electric. He served as past president of The Nassau Club and Princeton Regional Schools, and served on the boards of the Granville Charter School, Princeton Area United Way and Springdale Golf Club and was a member of Brookside Country Club. He graduated cum laude with a BS in engineering from Youngstown State University followed by graduate studies at Case Western Reserve University.
His family and friends meant everything to him and his favorite hours were spent with them.
Visitation will be at Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home, 515 High St, Worthington, Ohio 43085, Sunday, April 17, 2016, 1-3 PM with a memorial service immediately following at 3 PM.
