Lou Ann Snyder, age 52 of Beallsville, PA died unexpectedly Thursday August 31, 2006 in the Emergency Dept. of Mon Valley Hospital. She was born June 3, 1954 in Waynesburg, PA, a daughter of the late William F. Holmes, Sr, and Priscilla “Dolly” McCarty Holmes of Fredericktown, PA, who survives. Lou Ann was a 1972 graduate of Beth-Center High School and received a Diploma Degree in Nursing from the Uniontown Hospital School of Nursing in 1975. She began her nursing career at the Canonsburg Hospital and later became a Nurse Manager for Albert Gallatin Home Care before becoming the Director of the Skilled Nursing Unit of Greene County Memorial Hospital. Currently, she was employed as a Regional Nurse Manager for Tara Hospital, Brownsville. Mrs. Snyder loved being a nurse. Family, friends and patients were all recipients of her care and compassion. Her patients loved and adored her. She was a lifetime member of the East Bethlehem Baptist Church. A devoted mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed the time her family spent boating and camping. On August 30, 1974 she married Gary Snyder, who survives. They celebrated 32 years of marriage. Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are four children; Gary W. Snyder and his wife Adina, Jeremie S. Snyder and his wife Pam, Jonathan L. Snyder all of Beallsville, and Desiree Montgomery and her husband Jason of Washington, PA; Six Grandchildren – Tyler, Jordan, Alexis and Kalynn Snyder, Dustyn and Alyvia Montgomery; Two Brothers – William F. Holmes, Jr. and his wife Norma of Fredericktown, PA, Harry F. Holmes and his wife Billie Jo of Irwin, PA; Two Sisters Doris Jean Bayles of Amity, PA and Harriett E. Holmes-Tajmir and her husband Ali of Birmingham, AL; 14 Nieces and Nephews. Her father William F. Holmes, Sr. died May 17, 2004. A sister, Nancy Jo Holmes died in infancy.

Friends will be received from 6:00 to 9:00pm Saturday and 10:00am to 9:00pm Sunday in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA where services will be held at 11:00am Monday September 4, 2006 with Pastor Gary Schnieder officiating. Interment will be in the Beallsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Albert Gallatin Hospice, 610 Park Ave. Monongahela, PA 15063 or the American Heart Association, 10 Duff Road, Suite 304 Pittsburgh, PA 15235.
