OBITUARY

Lila L. Theakston, 75, of Amity (Lone Pine), formerly of Deemston Borough, died Thursday, April 4, 2013, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh.

She was born October 17, 1937, in Fredericktown, a daughter of the late Kemp Sr. and Gladys Chalfant Lynn.

In 2006, Mrs. Theakston retired from Washington County Recorder of Deeds office, where she had worked as an assistant deputy with more than 21 years of service. She was also a caregiver for the Caring Mission in Washington.

She was a member of the Arms Club, Washington, American Legion Post 175 Auxiliary of Washington, Women of the Moose 22 and Keystone Club.

Mrs. Theakston enjoyed taking care of the elderly, flower gardening, walking and being outdoors.

Surviving are her companion of more than 27 years, Ed Rasel of Lone Pine; two sons, Bill Theakston (Helen Shadursky) of Centerville and Scott Theakston (Kimberly DeTemple) of Millsboro; a grandson, Matthew Theakston of Pittsburgh; a brother, Kemp Lynn Jr. (Mary) of Scenery Hill; a stepdaughter, Chandra Rasel (Brian Patterson) and Chalese Bash (Brian), all of Washington; four stepgrandchildren, Taylor, Tahner, Ava and Eli; four sisters-in-law, Lillian Orum of Ravenna, Ohio, Rose McCoy of Confluence, Joan Adametz of Ravenna and Judy Coyle of Washington; a special friend, Barb Dulaney of Marianna; and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband, Raymond Theakston, died April 15, 1976.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a daughter, Cynthia Theakston; two brothers, Ray and Jack Lynn; two sisters, Laura McCarty and Agnes Geller; and a sister-in-law, Betty Engel.

Friends will be received from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday and Monday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, with Pastor Melissa Geisler officiating. Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lone Pine Volunteer Department, 350 Weaver Run Road, Washington, PA 15301.
