OBITUARY

Francis L. “Fran” Behanna, 64, of Bentleyville, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at The Donnell House, Washington. 

He was born on January 20, 1948 in Monongahela, a son of Mary Petrisek Behanna of North Charleroi and the late Clarence Behanna. 

A 1966 graduate of the Bentleyville-Ellsworth High School, he attended California State College. 

A veteran, Francis served his country during Vietnam with the United States Air Force. 

After 35 years of service, he retired from Consol Energy, 84 mine in 2003.   

He was a member of the American Legion Post 165 in Bentleyville, Hoot Owls Athletic club in New Eagle and the UMWA Local 1197. 

Francis was an avid Penguins, Steelers and Pirates fan and enjoyed gardening. 

On July 02, 1997, he married Sandra Jean Yelinek in Winchester, Virginia, who survives. 

Also surviving are a brother, James W. Behanna (Dorothy) of Harker Heights, Texas; sisters, Mary Ann Price of Waldorf, Maryland and Paulett Banks of Ann Arbor, MI; sister-in-law, Barbara Glendenning (James) of Carmichaels; four children, Dawn and Jamie and their families, Francis L. Behanna, Jr. of Verona and Mary Alberta Behanna, at home; step-son, John Brice of Las Vegas, Nevada and several aunts, uncles, cousin, nieces and nephews. 

Deceased are several aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Friends are welcome from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 18 with his cousin, the Rev. Raeanna Biddle, officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 165 and the U.S. Air Force. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Sebastian’s School, 801 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, PA 15012.
