OBITUARY

Daniel N. Tiberie

Daniel N. Tiberie, 81 of Bentleyville, PA died at 6:25 AM, Wednesday, February 10, 2005 in the Washington Hospital. He was born December 25, 1923 in Ellsworth, PA, a son of Louis and Nellie Seidler Tiberie. Mr. Tiberie was employed by Bethlehem Nines Corp. which later became Beth Energy in mine #60 in Eighty Four, Pa. He retired on August 1, 1982 as a Transportation Foreman with 43 years of service. He was a member of the Bentleyville United Methodist Church where he served on the church council and was a member of the United Methodist Men and a former Trustee. He was a member of the Bentleyville American Legion Post #165, the Charleroi VFW and UMWA Local #1197. Mr. Tiberie started a Thursday Senior Bowling League 21 years ago and has served as President (past) and Secretary. He was inducted into the Washington County Bowlers Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed gardening and cooking. He served in the Army Air Corp. as a Corporal during WWII with the 2nd Aircraft Floating Repair Unit in the Pacific Theatre of Operations and his special unit force serviced aircraft involved in combat on Saipan and Iwo Jima. For his service he received an American Theatre Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon with two bronze service stars, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory medal, and a Meritorious Unit Award. Mr. Tiberie was the 2nd ARUF Reunion Co-Coordinator for his WWII unit the past 10 years. On July 26, 1974 he married Joan Petrisek Tiberie who survives. Also surviving are 3 sons, Jack Tiberie (Donna) of Palymra, PA, Donald Tiberie (Judy) of Port Jefferson Station, NY, Dale L. Tiberie (Coleen) of Scenery Hill, PA and 1 daughter Jacqueline Cizmek (Robert) of Beallsville, PA, 10 Grandchildren, Darryl Tiberie (Danita), Dawn Anderson, Danielle Riggatoni, Monica Gustovich (Sam), Alisha Stockdale (Garrett), Buck Cizmek, Shaun Tiberie (Christine), Shana Hardy (Nicholas), Shane Daniel Tiberie and Mario Tiberie, 9 Great Grandchildren, Madison & Nicholas Tiberie, Chelsi & Conner Anderson and Emeri Lucas, Sarah Riggatoni, Justine Gustovich, Caiden and Tristen Hardy, 1 sister Edythe Pysh of Ellsworth and 2 nephews Thomas Pysh and Vic Tiberie. Deceased is 1 brother Victor Tiberie. Friends will be received from 6 to 9pm Saturday and 12 to 4 and 6 to 9pm Sunday in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, PA were services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 14, 2005 with Rev. David Zona officiating. Interment will be in the Beallsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church,P. O. Box 183, Bentleyville, PA or the Bentleyville Public Library, 931 Main Street, Bentleyville, PA.
