OBITUARY

Andrew "Ted" Yardis age 69 of Bentleyville, PA died at 7:00pm Thursday May 13, 2004 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born November 5, 1934 in Bentleyville a son of the late Andy and Mollie Haber Yardis.
Mr. Yardis was a 1954 graduate of Bentleyville High School and was a retired coal miner from the Bethlehem Mine #60 and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local 1197.
For many years he also worked as a self-employed carpenter.
Ted was a U.S Army veteran that played with the Army Band. He was a member of the Bentleyville American Legion Post #165.
Mr. Yardis was a member of the Bentleyville Eagles and Independent Club in Bentleyville. 
He was a member of the Bentleyville Fireman's Band for over 50 years where he played a tuba.
On October 2, 1969 he married Sally Scicchitano Yardis who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife is; 1 Son - Chris Yardis of Canonsburg, PA; 1 Daughter - Mrs. Edward (Cammi) Yorke of Canonsburg, PA; 2 Grandchildren - Christina and Jessica Yorke; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Deceased in addition to his parents is 5 Sisters - Catherine Marcini, Lillian Lobodinsky, Francis Wisniewski, Louise Wilson, and Betty McGraw; 2 Brothers - John and Louis Yardis.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9pm Saturday and 12 to 3 and 7 to 9pm Sunday in the Greenlee Funeral Home 619 Main St. Bentleyville, PA where services will be held at 11:00am Monday May 17, 2004 with Rev. Dr. John Garvin officiating. Interment will be in the Beallsville Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 812 Main St. Bentleyville, PA 15314 or St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 509 Sixth St. Charleroi, PA 15022 or to the Bentleyville Fireman's Band c/o Dave D'Orazio, 107 Third St. Bentleyville, PA 15314.
