OBITUARY

Bessie B. Jacobs, 95, of Fredericktown (Deemston Boro), died Saturday, June 13, 2009 in the Golden Living Center in Waynesburg, PA.
Mrs. Jacobs was born January 1, 1914 in Bentleyville, PA., a daughter of the late Thomas and Kate Smith Waugh. 
She was a 1932 graduate of East Beth High School.
On November 26, 1933 she married James Franklin Jacobs who died on June 28, 2001 after 67 years of marriage.
Mrs. Jacobs was a homemaker. She was an excellent swimmer who taught all her children, a wonderful baker who was famous for her homemade bread and butterscotch pies. She also enjoyed working in the garden and canning. 
She was a member of the East Bethlehem Baptist Church and also a member of the Deemston Grange #1372 for over 50 years.
Surviving is one son- Russell Jacobs (Charline) of Maumee, OH; 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are two sons- James Franklin Jacobs III, and Thomas Edwards Jacobs; and three brothers- Charles Waugh Sr., William Waugh, and Thomas Waugh; and three sisters- Sevilla Wise, Edith Ann Campsy, and Nancy Cario.
Friends will be received from 5-8 PM Monday in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Beallsville Cemetery.
