Daniel J. Fabiszewski Sr.

Vietnam vet, GM retiree enjoyed 1950s, ’60s music

Daniel J. Fabiszewski Sr., 66, of Washington, died Sunday, January 20, 2013, in his home.

He was born May 18, 1946, in Washington, a son of the late Stanley and Sarah Opal Mikesell Fabiszewski.

Mr. Fabiszewski was a 1964 graduate of Bentleyville-Ellsworth High School.

He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy as a veteran of the Vietnam War.

In 1991, he retired from the Fisher Body Plant of General Motors Corp. in West Mifflin. At his retirement, he had more than 20 years of service and was a member of United Auto Workers.

Mr. Fabiszewski enjoyed the music of the 1950s and ’60s as well as classic cars of that era. He loved his family and his pet Yorky, Iddy.

On September 6, 1969, he married Janet L. Bogochenko, who survives.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two children, Daniel J. Fabiszewski Jr. of Washington and Stacey K. Hillman (Jeff) of Scenery Hill; four grandchildren, Jordan, Madison and Jeffrey Hillman and Natasha Galway; a sister, Kay Koch of Brighton, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a sister, Lorraine Martin.
