OBITUARY

Cora Belle Sprowls, 86 of West Pike Run Twp. (Clover Hill) passed away Saturday February 20, 2016 in the Donnell House, Washington, PA.
She was born December 3, 1929 in North Bethlehem Twp., a daughter of the late John Monroe and Cora Dale Crumrine Fulton.
Cora was a 1947 graduate of Ellsworth High School.
For several years she worked as a clerk in a general store and later was employed as a seamstress for Audrey Street Drapery located in Bentleyville.
Mrs. Sprowls was entered into the North Ten Mile Baptist Church at age 11 on Easter Sunday. She was a member of the Silver Star Mission Circle of the North Ten Mile Baptist Church.
On September 15, 1963 she became a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bentleyville. She became an Ordained Elder on January 18, 1976 and was an active Elder for two terms.
Always very active in her church, Cora also served as the Sunday School Superintendent and teacher. She taught Vacation Bible School and served as President of the Women’s Association of the church, and attended the National Presbyterian Women’s annual meeting in Purdue, IN.
Known as a strong Alto singer, Cora served as music director for the church singing Duets, Trios, with small groups and the church choir for many different occasions as well as serving as Piano Player for Sunday School and substitute Piano Player for Church services.
In addition to her church work, Mrs. Sprowls also served as Inspector of Elections for many years in West Pike Run Twp. 
Mrs. Sprowls enjoyed playing the piano and organ at home as well as picnics, especially family picnics.
On June 25, 1949 she married James W. Sprowls, who survives. They celebrated 66 years of marriage.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Curtis J. Sprowls and his wife Linda (Meikle Sprowls) of West Pike Run Twp.; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Lynne, Marlinda Ruth and Emma Corajayne Sprowls; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents is a daughter, Lynne Michele Sprowls Duvall who died October 10, 1983; a son who died in infancy on July 14, 1952; two brothers, Roy Fulton and Brontz Fulton; two sisters, Estella Ewing and Betty Grace Gatten.
