OBITUARY

Helen Dobrunick, 94, a lifelong resident of Fredericktown, died Thursday, March 12, 2009 in Rolling Meadows, Waynesburg, PA.
She was born September 27th, 1914 in Fredericktown, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Stoyka Dobrunick.
Ms. Dobrunick was a 1933 graduate of East Bethlehem High School. She received her undergraduate degree from California State Teacher’s College and her Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist from West Virginia University. She taught kindergarten through middle school for many years in several elementary schools of what is now the Beth-Center School District.
She was a charter member of the Women’s Civic Club of Fredericktown, a member of the East Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladie’s Auxiliary, she was also one of the founders of the Fredericktown Area Public Library, and a longtime member of the Holy Resurrection Russian Orthodox Church, West Brownsville.
Ms. Dobrunick loved to travel and read. She had quite an artistic talent and enjoyed expressing it, but most of all, she loved entertaining for friends and playing cards with them. She will be missed by all who passed her way.
Surviving is one brother- Charles Dobrunick of Vacaville, CA; three sisters- Sofie Gregory of Beaver Creek, OH; Eva Mae Crayne, and her husband James, of Maple Heights, OH, Wilma Heyman of Wheeling, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, is one brother- John Dobrunick; and five sisters- Mary Skirpan, Anna Dobrunick, Nellie Barry, Agnes Daughtery, and Martha Maria.
Friends will be received on Saturday, March 14, 2009 from 11 AM to 1 PM, the hour of services, in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 42 Bank Street at Crawford Rd., Fredericktown, with Pastor Ford Campbell officiating. Internment will follow in the Beallsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donation's in Helen's name can be made to the Fredericktown Area Public Library, 38 Water St., Fredericktown, PA 15333.
