OBITUARY

Joan V. Ross Fitzwater, 80, of Deemston Borough, died Saturday, October 15, 2016, in her home, following a brief illness, surrounded by her family and friends.
Born October 26, 1935, in West Bethlehem Township, Washington County, she was a daughter of the late Orville and Stella Rozak Ross.
She was a 1954 graduate from East Bethlehem High School.
She was co-owner of Fitzwater's Dairy and Hog Farm, along with her husband of 59 years, Donald Fitzwater, since 1972.
She was a member of Washington County Farmers Association and a past member of Zollarsville United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and held various church positions. She enjoyed crocheting, her flower garden, her family and fishing trips to Canada with her husband.
On October 27, 1956, she married Donald Fitzwater, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Terry (Brenda) Fitzwater of West Virginia and Larry (Heather) Fitzwater of Phillippi, W.Va; two grandsons, Isaiah and Isaac Fitzwater, both of Kansas City, Kan.
She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Patches, and her bird, Pretty Boy.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Nichol Funeral Home, 1728 Main Street, Marianna, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, with Pastor George Lamanay officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
