Known as Ella, she was born on May 17, 1853, in W. Pike Run Twp., Washington County, Pa., a daughter of Newton and Margaret Winnett Jennings Rigg. She died on Nov. 5, 1917, in the Columbia Hospital in Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, Pa., just a month after her brother who had been on the staff of that hospital. The cemetery lot where she is buried was owned jointly by her brother Rev. Mark Allison Rigg and her half-sister Nancy Jennings Hazlett, whose home she shared in California, Pa., in her last years.
