Ruth Manning Hughes, 92, of Washington died Sunday December 9, 2007 following a brief illness.
She was born May 10, 1915 in Beallsville a daughter of the late Dr. Milton F. and Mary Taylor Manning.
Mrs. Hughes was a graduate of Allegheny College and earned a Bachelors Degree in sociology and had been employed by Washington County as a social worker. 
She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Washington and also a member of the Current Events Club of Washington. She enjoyed sewing and participated in various sewing clubs through out the years.
Surviving is one daughter, Anne Liparulo and her husband Nicholas of North Huntingdon, one grandson, Matthew Liparulo of New York, NY., one granddaughter, Karen Liparulo of Winston-Salem, N.C., one niece and one nephew.
Deceased in addition to her parents is her husband, John W. Hughes, and a brother, James T. Manning.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-9pm Tuesday in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main St. Beallsville where funeral services will be held Wednesday December 12, 2007 at 11:00am with Dr. Andrew Harvey officiating. Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to: First United Methodist Church, 29 College St., Washington, Pa. 15301.
