East Bethlehem

Mrs. Margaret Allen of West Pike Township, died Friday 12nd inst., aged about eighty-one years. Interment at Beallsville Cemetery, Sabbath day. Rev. James Kenney conducted funeral services at the family residence. Mrs. Allen was born and raised in County Termanagh in Northern Ireland, about nine miles from Enniskillen, a town built on an island in Lough Erne. Her husband died in Ireland. Her family consisting of three sons and one daughter were all present at her funeral; three of them live near this place and one son, William, resides at Uniontown. She also has two brothers and two sisters living near here, who came to America many years before she did. Her maiden name was Hetherington. Although she had lived in this country but a few years she had won the esteem and respect of all who knew her, and the manifestations of grief on the part of her immediate relatives was evidence that she had a place in their hearts, and could not be given up without deep sorrow.
