OBITUARY

homas Vincent Grupe, 84, of Brookpark, OH, formerly of Daisytown, PA, died February 13, 2010 in Strongsville, Ohio.
Mr. Grupe was born October 15, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of the late Raymond and Emma Patterson Grupe.
He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and afterwards joined the U.S. Navy to serve his country during WW II. He rose to the rank of Electricians Mate 3rd Class. After his honorable discharge, he joined the U.S. Army Reserves. 
Mr. Grupe was the head window designer for Marshall Drug Store for 23 years and Cunningham Drug Store for 10 years before he retired.
In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting coins and building model airplanes, ships, and houses.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6676, LST Associations, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Surviving is one nephew- Raymond Grupe (Linda) of N. Olmsted; one niece- Virginia Dodds (Walter, who is deceased) of Sandusky; 5 great nephews- Raymond M. and Matthew K. Grupe and Michael, Walter, and Mark Dodds; one great niece- McKenna Dodds;two sister in laws- Barbara Rice of Daisytown, PA, and Sheilia Perosi, of Woodbridge, VA.; and two brother in laws- Elmer Rice of Daisytown, PA, and Alex Perosi of PA; and many nieces and nephews. 
Deceased, in addition to his parents, is his wife, Anne Marie Grupe, who died on May 2, 2004; his step father- Edward Toolis; four brothers- Alva, Franklin, Patrick, and Dembe; a sister, Josephine, who died in infancy.
A funeral service will be held in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville at 11:00 AM Friday, February 19, 2010 with Pastor George Van Riper officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by the Hanson Cole American Legion Post #391.
