OBITUARY

Therese Startare Berry, 97, of Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Waynesburg and Mather, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013, in Wellspring Health Care Center, Cincinnati.

She was born January 28, 1916, in Washington, a daughter of the late Frank Startare and Alta Pauline Patterson Startare, formerly of Beallsville.

On October 20, 1938, she married Raymond J. Berry, who died January 1, 1999.

She lived much of her life in Mather, then in Phelps, Ky., and then in Waynesburg. She had lived in Cincinnati for the past five years.

Mrs. Berry founded the 4-H sewing club in Greene County.

She was a member of Jefferson Presbyterian Church, where she was the organist. She was also a member of Emerald Chapter 135 Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading and sewing and was an excellent cook.

Surviving are two daughters, Nancy Ice of Cincinnati and Jeanne Schroyer (Fred) of Waynesburg; and a son, Raymond J. Berry (Barbara) of Perkasie.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Karin Galligan (Chuck) of Washington, Timothy Schroyer (Deanna) of Bumpass, Va., Jay Schroyer (Ashly) of Denver, Colo., Joel Schroyer (Courtney) of Waynesburg, Luke Schroyer of Waynesburg; Raymond J. Berry (Tracey) of Perkasie, Marsha Young of Frederick, Md., and Tracey Young of Cincinnati; and eight great-grandchildren.

Deceased is a brother, Hunter Francis Startare, formerly of Beallsville.

Private services and interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery. Arrangements by Behm Funeral Home Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity. Condolences may be offered at www.behmfh.com.
