OBITUARY

Jack R. Hill, Sr., 73 of Beallsville, PA died Monday August 17, 2009 in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born January 22, 1936 in Washington, PA a son of the late Frank R. and Thelma Yorty Hill.
Mr. Hill was a 1954 graduate of Ellsworth High School.
From 1958 to 1964 he served in the U.S.Army Reserves.
An underground coal miner, Mr. Hill retired from U.S. Steel’s Maple Creek Mine after 24 years of service. He had previously been employed by the former Scott Motors in Washington, PA as a mechanic. His employment at Scott’s lasted 15 years.
Mr. Hill enjoyed spending time with his family, his grandchildren in particular, at his campsite in the Big Bear Campground in Bruceton Mills, WV. He also enjoyed hunting and loved Polka Music.
He was a member of the Beallsville Methodist Church, United Mine Workers of America Local 1248, Miners Club in Richeyville and was a Lifetime Member of Hancock-McCune-Horn American Legion Post 705, Centerville.
On August 24, 1957 he married Ruth Noble Hill, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons – Jack R. Hill, Jr. (Renee) of Corpus Christy, TX and Thomas Hill (Jackie) of Richeyville; Two daughters – Christy Rohrer (Mark) of Beallsville and Mary Zuchowski of Ellsworth, PA; Eleven grandchildren – Justin Hill (Crystal) of Phar, TX, Shanelle Veteto (Greg) of Hawaii, Robin Shultz (Mike) of Richeyville, PA, Abby Koss (Dave) of Washington, PA, Matthew Rohrer, Haley Zuchowski, Jeffrey Zuchowski and Drew Zuchowski all of Beallsville, Alexis Hill, Mary Beth Hill, Thomas Hill, Jr. all of Richeyville; Three great grandchildren; One brother – William Y. Hill (Dottie) of Houston, PA. Several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his parents is a Foster Brother – John Colvin.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9pm Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Thursday in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA where services will be held at 11:00am Friday August 21, 2009 with Rev. James Markley officiating. Interment will follow in the Beallsville Cemetery. Full Military Rites will be accorded by the Hancock-McCune-Horn American Legion Post 705, Centerville.
