OBITUARY

Charles (Gus) Pagac, 80 of Richeyville, PA died Saturday August 30, 2008 in his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born March 4, 1928 in Allison #1, PA a son of the late Frank, Sr. and Mary Trumka Pagac.
Mr. Pagac served with the U.S.Army from 1946 to 1948 and served with the U.S.Air Force as a Staff Sergeant from 1948 to 1952 in the 726th Tactical Control Squadron. For his service, he was awarded the WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal, Japan.
In 1988 he retired from Bethlehem Mines Corp after 43 years as a coal miner and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local 2874.
Mr. Pagac was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling and going to the casinos.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 586, Bentleyville, Hancock-McCune-Horn American Legion Post 705, Centerville, Polish Club of California and the Eagles Club of Brownsville.
Active in local politics, Mr. Pagac previously served on the Bethlehem Center School Board.
On June 4,1949 he married Mary Ann Sinko, who survives. They celebrated 59 years of marriage.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children – Jeff and wife Judy of Thomson, GA, Kathy Vegso and her husband Gene of Cranberry Twp., Michael and his wife Patty of Richeyville and Kevin and his wife Charlene of Pine Bank, PA; Three Brothers – Tony, Andy and Edward Pagac, all of Richeyville; Seven Grandchildren, three Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his parents are two sisters – Maggie Pagac and Agnes Lutes; Five Brothers – Frank, John, Joe, Elmer and Stanley Pagac, who was killed in action on Normandy Beach.

Friends will be received from 2 to 9pm Wednesday September 3, 2008 in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA. Funeral services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Hospice Care of the Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Road, Washington, PA 15301.
