Dr. Gregory S. Sheffo, M.D., 48 died unexpectedly on May 27, 2012 in Clearfield, PA.
He was born December 5, 1963 in Pittsburgh, PA the beloved son of Jean M. Sheffo and the late Peter A. Sheffo.
On May 23, 1992 he married Karen Ann Shifflett Sheffo. In addition to his wife he leaves behind three daughters, Catherine, Monica and Natalie; two brothers, Bradley Sheffo and Mark Sheffo (Darlene) of Pittsburgh, PA; a niece, Sarah and a nephew, Mason.
Greg attended Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh and then attended the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Microbiology. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He then did his residency in Pediatrics at Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital in Washington, DC followed by four years working as an Army doctor at Fort McClellan, Alabama.
He spent the last fifteen years as Clinic Director and Pediatrician at the Clearfield Center for Children’s Care. He also served as president of the Medical Staff of Clearfield Hospital. For the last three years, after receiving his Master’s Degree in Medical Management from the University of Texas at Dallas, he served as both Pediatrician and Chief Medical Officer of Clearfield Hospital in Clearfield, PA.
Due to his love of football, he was the team physician of the Clearfield Bisons.
He had many accomplishments in his life and was always striving to achieve more. He loved the simple things in life. He was a man with a generous heart; always willing to help anyone in need. He loved his family deeply. He was revered, respected and loved by many and will be sadly missed. He will forever be in our hearts. |
