OBITUARY

Joan M. Gildow, 83 of Washington, PA died Friday, April 17, 2015 in the Donnell House Washington, PA. 
She was born May 29, 1931 in McKeesport, PA a daughter of the late Paul and Margaret Mason Miller.
Dearly beloved by her family, Joan was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and sister. Always embracing those she loved with a whole heart, her wit and charm made a deep impression on those who knew her. She was long a fixture in the Washington Community, having worked at the Italian Oven, Cracker Barrel, Sam’s Club, after years of serving the county in the Tax Office. Joan was known for greeting people of all walks of life with kindness, humor and affection. She was the “adopted grandmother” of scores of people in and around Washington. Joan will be sorely missed by those whose lives she touched. 
Surviving are four children, Debra Vayansky of Canonsburg, PA, Jody Dykins (Tom) of Daisytown, PA, Ollie Gildow (Deborah) of Shrewsbury, PA and Lori Gildow (Walt) of Simi Valley, CA; twelve grandchildren, Nickolas Vayansky, Jennifer Yerkey, Heidi Flemming, Catherine, Chaz, Richard, Christopher and Megan Beadling, Justin and Terry Gildow, Amanda Rebert and Ivan Alexander Husak; seven great grandchildren; sister, Anna Fitch of Eighty Four, PA.
Deceased is her husband Ollie William Gildow who died April 9, 2008, a son Paul Edward Gildow who died May 5, 1977 and a sister, Florence Fitch.

Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 8 P.M. in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, PA where funeral services will be held Monday, April 20, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Wally LaLonde officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Epilepsy Foundation, 1501 Reedsdale Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15232 or Autism Speaks, 8035 McKnight Road, Suite 301, Pittsburgh, PA 15237 or the Washington Lions Club, P.O. Box 541, Washington, PA 15301. Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery.
